Dave Grohl 'no longer working with divorce attorney' after fathering secret child

Dave Grohl is reportedly no longer using a divorce lawyer as he hopes to reconcile with his wife.

The 55-year-old Foo Fighters frontman shocked fans in September when he revealed in a candid Instagram post that he had recently become a father to a child with another woman, admitting he had been unfaithful to his wife of 21 years, Jordyn Blum.

At the time, Grohl expressed his regret, saying he was “doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”

Soon after, it was reported that he and Blum had both stopped wearing their wedding rings, and Grohl had hired a divorce attorney.

Now, however, sources tell People that the lawyer is off the case as the couple attempts to work things out.

A source shared: “He’s no longer working with a divorce attorney and instead hoping to work things out with his wife.”

“Dave’s been prioritising his family. He knows he messed up,” a second insider told the outlet.

“It’s one of those situations where you don’t realise what you have until you’re about to lose it. He doesn’t want to lose his family.”

In September, Grohl – the former drummer of Nirvana– announced he fathered a secret child outside of his marriage to director and actress Blum on Instagram.

Since, the Foo Fighters are rumoured to have gone on an indefinite absence, and two of the star’s three daughters, 18-year-old Violet and 15-year-old Harper, deactivated their Instagram accounts.

Grohl has been married to Blum since 2003, and has often been referred to as “the nicest guy in rock music” due to his charity work, friendly nature and image as a family man. His daughter Violet, a singer, performed alongside her father at last year’s Glastonbury festival.

In his statement announcing the news, Grohl said he plans to be a “loving and supportive” parent to his new child. “I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”

The Standard has gone to Dave Grohl’s rep for comment.
