Money-saving tips for families to reduce food shopping bill as prices soar

With news that the cost of living is set to continue to rise this year, families are looking for ways to cut down on costs wherever they can.

Along with the sharply increasing rise in household bills and national inflation, rising food costs are weighing heavily on parent's minds - with many wondering how to make their weekly food cost stretch for their own family.

The price of food has shot up at the fastest rate in almost 30 years - with food inflation rising from 2.4 per cent in December to 2.7 per cent in January – the highest rate since October 2013.
