NEW DELHI: All eyes may currently be on the SAFF Championships, but focus will soon turn to the slightly more pressing matter this week of the All India Football Federation's Annual General Body Meeting and subsequent Executive Committee meeting, under the new dispensation of president Kalyan Chaubey.
The AGM is set to be dominated by issues of financial restructuring and control among other regular matters. With issues of high spending pertaining to travel and recruitments at Football House already swirling in football circles - a budget deficit of Rs 36-cr when they assumed office in September 2022 to around Rs 18-cr at the current moment - there is more alarm with some members questioning the I-League 2022-23 production and broadcast expenses, details of which were shared with TOI.
