In a Champions League match on Thursday, Barcelona suffered a 2-1 loss to Monaco, which marked the end of Spanish club's flawless start to the season, as they played with 10 men after an early red card.

Elsewhere, Florian Wirtz made a stunning Champions League debut for Bayer Leverkusen, scoring twice in a commanding 4-0 victory over Feyenoord. Leverkusen's impressive performance came just months after their sole defeat in an otherwise remarkable season, which saw them clinch the Bundesliga title and the German Cup.
