The moment murderer Jordan Monaghan denied killing his two young children and girlfriend was caught on police camera.
The killer, from Blackburn, lied to detectives and told them he was watching Die Hard with his daughter Ruby in a Moses basket adding that his son Logan had fallen asleep in the pram after visiting a local pool.
The footage, whish is being aired in a new documentary also shows Monaghan questioning police as to why he was being arrested. Monaghan would later be found guilty of murdering his two children, Ruby and Logan, and his former partner Evie, whom he killed in 2019.

He was also convicted of attempting to murder another child on two separate occasions. He is currently serving a life sentence with a minimum term of 48 years, reports LancsLive.
On the evening of 17th August, 2013, Laura Gray of Blackburn, Lancashire, went to wake her son, 21-month-year-old Logan, from a nap in his pram. After discovering that he was unresponsive, Laura rushed Logan to hospital.
Logan was pronounced dead a short time later, with doctors unable to determine the toddler’s cause of death. Tragically, just eight months prior, Laura lost her baby daughter Ruby, an apparent result of acute bronchial pneumonia.
Monaghan was arrested on suspicion of double murder on 13th April 2018 following extensive investigations by police. Captured on police body cam at a construction site where he was working, footage shows Monaghan’s apparent surprise.
“With what evidence are you doing this,” Monaghan asks in handcuffs, before being led into a police van. At Blackburn Police Station, Monaghan was interviewed under caution.
Seen in police interview footage, Monaghan was asked outright if he killed his children. “No,” he replied. Probed further on the events leading up to Ruby’s death, Monaghan blankly explained that he was watching TV.
“Watching TV. Yeah, I was watching Die Hard,” he said, adding that Ruby was in her Moses basket.
The footage also showed Police questioning Monaghan on the death of his son, Logan. Monaghan had taken Logan to the local swimming pool Waves on the day of his death. When the pair left, Monaghan had covered Logan in his pram with the rain cover, making it look like the child was asleep.
Officers asked: "Was he awake when you left Waves?" to which Monaghan responded: "No. Not when I left [he fell asleep] just as we were coming out of Waves."
Speaking on the Discovery+ program, The Killer In My Home: A Deadliest Mums & Dads Special, Detective Chief Superintendent Pauline Stables relayed how police has approached both tragic cases. She said: "We asked for advice from forensic pathologist, paediatric pathologist, neurologist, cardiologist, infectious diseases specialist, geneticist, all to rule out any potential natural cause for Ruby's death.
"So ultimately the overall evidence supported that Jordan had obstructed Ruby's airway through pinching her nose and putting his hand over her mouth. We now know that Jordan has travelled to Waves, pushed Logan in his pram into a changing room within Waves, spent some time within the changing room at which point we believe that is where he's obstructed Logan's airway and ultimately killed him."
In December 2021, Monaghan went on trial facing three counts of murder at Preston Crown Court. After their painstaking deliberations, the jury returned a verdict: guilty on all counts.
Jordan Monaghan was sentenced to 40 years behind bars for the murders of his children, Ruby and Logan, as well as the murder of his girlfriend, Evie Adams. In 2022, Monaghan had his sentence increased by a further eight years.
