Steven Gerrard has detailed the awkward moment he walked in on a supporter who had broken into his office at the Rangers training ground.
The former Ibrox boss explained he returned to his office at the Auchenhowie training base to find a fan who had wandered into the facility.
Gerrard was left stunned by the incident as he told the supporter he would have to leave, before explaining the situation to perplexed director of football Mark Allen.
Speaking on Open Goal, Andy Halliday referenced the incident as he probed Gerrard on his memory of "when the fan broke into the training ground".
Gerrard explained: "He came in the office, didn't he?
"I was just sitting thinking, who is this in my office here? Where is the security here?
"I just said, 'You alright, mate?' He said, 'Sound'. I asked, 'What are you doing here?' and he said, 'Just a fan'.
"I said he was going to have to leave because we don't do that here; we're working, we're preparing.
"He said, 'Ah yeah, sound, I'm off'. He just walked out and went off.
"I said to Mark Allen, 'There's been a fan there in my office'. He said 'You're messing aren't you?'.
"Then, obviously, we had to tighten the security. But he was fine, having the time of his life walking round Auchenhowie like he owned it."
