This is the moment a speeding driver swerved into a barrier in a 77mph police chase.
At around 9.30pm on September 5, police officers spotted 44-year-old Neil Fox, from Gidlow Street, Hindley in Wigan, driving at speeds of up to 77mph through Chorley and Adlington. Chorley Police from the force's Tactical Operations Unit spotted the black Volkswagen Golf driving dangerously on the A6 and attempted to stop the vehicle.
However, after failing to follow orders, the driver drove through the streets of Adlington, maintaining a high speed. Now twice over the speed limit, the car eventually collided with a "keep left" barrier and coming to a stop, LancsLive reports.

Fox was arrested and charged on a number of offences including dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance, failing to provide a breath sample and failing to stop. Chorley Police posted the dashcam footage of the police pursuing the vehicle in question onto their Facebook page.
It shows the black Volkswagen Golf speeding ahead of the police car, which was doing top speeds of 61mph itself. The footage shows the driver entering a 30mph zone on Westhoughton Road, before travelling through Chorley Road where the driver came to stop after hitting a sign to the left.
A few months after the incident, Neil was sentenced to 10 months in prison for dangerous driving. He was also sentenced to four months for driving whilst disqualified and has been disqualified for a further two and a half years.
Comments on the video are largely thanking the police for their arrest, with one posting: "Great work guys, but speed cameras are needed on that stretch on Westhoughton Road and next to Pincroft there's loads of speeders! They pass horses like idiots!
