A shop was the target of a burglary by a callous pair just one week before Christmas.
Gifts Delight, an independent gift shop in Southport, was robbed by a pair of "scumbags", with the business taking to social media to try and catch those responsible. Posting on Instagram, the business said: "Family of scum bags just stole quite a few items from our store. PM me if you know them, please. Please share and beware of them."
Fiona Chadwick who owns the business with her partner, Vasileious Charkoutsis, told the ECHO how the pair walked in along with a large group of people before stealing a number of items including three light-up bottles and a boxed plant and leaving without paying. She said: "I wasn't actually working, it's my son.

"We normally work seven days a week but my son rang me and said that a large group of people had been in with children who were shouting and picking things up. When they left he thought they had taken things and asked me to check the CCTV.
"It's horrible and annoying. We work hard seven days a week and people think they can steal from us. Usually, these people don't get caught so we just want other businesses to be aware that these people are out there."
A Merseyside Police spokesperson told the ECHO: "We were contacted at 3pm on Sunday 18 th December following reports that earlier that day a number of items had been stolen from Gifts Delight on Lord Street in Southport including bottles, a book and a grow kit.
"CCTV enquiries have been carried out. Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or contact @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 22000930922."
