Moment fans belt out Rangers chant during Wimbledon match

Moment Rangers fans belt out Ibrox chant during Wimbledon match

THIS is the moment fans belted out a Rangers-themed chant during a quarter-final match at Wimbledon.

A small number of spectators at the wheelchair singles match between Gordon Reid and Alfie Hewett chanted support for Reid with a similar theme to one heard at Ibrox.

Reid - from Glasgow and a huge Rangers supporter - was taking on doubles partner Hewett this afternoon when he was supported with a familiar Ibrox chant.

Reid - who is nicknamed Gio after idol Van Bronckhorst - was backed by the chant, also used to hail the Rangers boss, during the second set.

The cluster of fans chanted "We love you Gio, we do" from their seats as Reid and Hewett took a short break between games.

BBC Sport shared the moment on social media, commenting: "WE LOVE YOU GIO, WE DO!"

"When you accidentally turn up at #Wimbledon instead of Ibrox".

Unfortunately for Reid, he was beaten by doubles partner Hewett in the quarter-final match at Wimbledon.

He fell just short in a loss in three sets to the Englishman. But the pair will be teaming up again in the wheelchair doubles semi-finals.

They go up against the duo of Joachim Gerard and Tom Egberink for a spot in the finals.
