Moment delivery driver chases after stolen van on Wigan street

This is the moment a delivery driver had to chase after his own van after it was stolen while he was doing his rounds.

The video captured on Princes Road in Ashton-In-Makerfield, Wigan, shows the desperate DPD driver run after his van that was nicked.

The video was captured by the camera of Gordon Boon, 62, who lives on Princess Road.

He told the Manchester Evening News that this isn’t the first time something like this has happened in the area.

Speaking to the MEN he said: “I do feel sorry for him being a van driver myself, don't know if he left the keys in or not though.

“It was stolen from the driver a few doors down from where I live

“We get a lot of shop lifting, begging and thieving in the area.

“I didn’t see anything when it happened, but I heard sirens and was told about it so I checked my cameras.

“I thought the van was going to hit my NHS van or my car, but it didn’t."

DPD and GMP have been approached for comment.
