Molly Mae x Adidas has finally landed. The former Love Island star has designed two trainers in collaboration with the sports giant: a matcha green pair of sambas, alongside cream and latte-inspired brown superstars. The shoes have already completely sold out, but I’ve managed to get my hands on both pairs of trainers.
When the influencer turned fashion mogul announced her latest venture, it’s safe to say the reaction was mixed – and people were quick to blast the collaboration as “beige and boring”. But the trainers prove exciting for those looking to replicate Molly Mae’s signature style. Designed in a characteristically tonal, minimalist colour palette, the new trainers boast double lace detailing for extra impact.
An early champion of the now ubiquitous gazelle, spezial and samba styles, the partnership is arguably a natural fit. Reimagined by the influencer, Molly Mae decided on an “iced latte” and “matcha” inspired shades. It’s a “London girl shoe... It’s what I put on for a day trip to London,” she said in the second season of her Prime reality show Behind It All.
Explaining her vision, she added, “I feel like you’re either an iced latte girl or you’re a matcha girl.” Reflecting her own neutral wardrobe, the aesthetic shouldn’t really come as a surprise.

Since her appearence on the 2019 series of Love Island, the influencer has slowly been cultivating a presence in the fashion world. Famously, she held a lucrative position as creative director at Pretty Little Thing before launching her own label, Maebe.
Now, Molly Mae’s Adidas collaboration further cements her as a credible fashion figure. “Seeing my creative vision come to life on two iconic adidas Originals silhouettes that have long been staples in my wardrobe is a true dream,” she said. Here’s everything you need to know about the trainers – including my thoughts after trying both pairs of Adidas x Molly Mae shoes.
Where can you shop Molly Mae x Adidas?
You can shop the two exclusive trainer styles at select Adidas retail stores (London, Carnaby Street, White City, Battersea, Stratford and Manchester), online at Adidas.co.uk – the trainers are currently sold out – and select retailers (Asos, JD Sports and Office) while stocks last.
Molly Mae x Adidas matcha sambas

Why we love it
- Comfortable
- Colourful
- Lace detailing
Take note
- Come up a little small
Adidas’s samba silhouette has enjoyed enduring popularity – so much so that the fashion world reached samba fatigue last year. Molly Mae x Adidas offers a fresh and colourful take, featuring a matcha-green upper with off-white three stripes, a traditional gum sole and double-laces in off-white and soft pink.

Just like Adidas’ main line of trainers, I’d suggest sizing up if you’re between sizes as the Molly Mae sambas come up a little small. The ‘matcha’ green shade is more like a soft sage, with the pink laces providing playful contrast. However, the trainers also come with matching sage green laces that you swap in if you’re more minimalist-inclined.
Sturdy, durable and comfortable, the gum sole gives you ample grip and support. Besides the lace detailing, you wouldn’t necessarily think they were part of a special collaboration – but the trainers are just £5 more dear than the classic samba line, offering good value. A simple way to add colour to your spring and summer outfits, the streamlined sambas are my favourite pair out of the two in Molly Mae’s line – albeit a little uninspired.

Molly Mae x Adidas latte superstar trainers

Why we love it
- Comfortable
- Chunky silhouette
- Neutral colourways
Take note
- Come up a little small (especially around the toes)
- Not a very inspired design
If you prefer a chunkier silhouette over the more streamlined sambas, the superstar trainers are for you. The Adidas originals x Molly-Mae superstar II is designed with a soft cream-white upper, featuring three brown stripes and heel detailing.

The superstar trainers are detailed with latte-inspired double laces – a signature of the Molly Mae line – which helps add intrigue to the classic white trainer. The basketball court inspired silhouette has long been a go-to for laidback, off-duty style. They offer a comfortable and supportive fit, just make sure to size up as they come up a little small.
Chunky trainers have been replaced by more slimline silhouettes in recent years, but they’re slowly creeping back into the fashion lexicon this year – is Molly Mae ahead of the curve?

Are Adidas x Molly Mae trainers worth it?
Inspired by the colour palette in her own wardrobe, fans are sure to love the neutral, soft tones in the ‘matcha’ samba trainers and ‘latte’ superstars. While the coffee shop inspiration is easily ridiculed, the minimalist trainers will slot easily into your existing wardrobe – whether you’re a fan or not. My preference is toward the sambas and I’ll be swapping to the matching sage laces, rather than the pink toned double laces. Whichever you choose, the laces are a nice touch for those that like a pop of colour in their shoes. As for the superstars, the chunky silhouette feels a little dated but their retro feel will certainly appeal to some.
We’ve reached out to Adidas to find out when the trainers will be restocked.
