Love Island’s Molly-Mae Hague has congratulated her partner Tommy Fury after he beat YouTuber Jake Paul in a long-awaited and much-anticipated fight in Saudi Arabia on Sunday, February 26. The fight was originally supposed to take place in 2021 but Tommy had to pull out due to a bacterial chest infection and a broken rib.
Following the fight, Molly-Mae shared a photo of Tommy with his belt to her Instagram Stories. Alongside the photo, she wrote: "Never a doubt in my mind."
In a further post, the entrepreneur and social media influencer, 23, posted an image of her and Tommy sharing a kiss as she breastfed their baby girl, Bambi, as he left home a few weeks ago to prepare for his fight. "The pressure that was on his boys [sic] shoulders... I will never, ever know how he dealt with it. Never been more proud of anyone in my life."

After their match finally went ahead, Tommy defeated Jake by split decision after eight rounds. The long-standing feud finally came to a conclusion at Diriyah Arena on Sunday evening and Tommy took a standing count for a knockdown in the final round – with the British fighter claiming to have slipped – but had earlier done enough to earn a split decision on the judges' cards.
Jake was penalised a point for holding in the fifth round, with British fighter Fury also facing a deduction in the next. The judges scored what was at times a scrappy contest 75-74 Jake, 76-73 and 76-73 Tommy. The defeat ended Jake's perfect 6-0 record, which included bouts against the likes of ex-NBA player Nate Robinson as well as MMA athletes Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley.
The fight comes mere weeks after Molly-Mae gave birth to her and Tommy’s first child, Bambi. Viewers were quick to notice that Tommy wore a hooded gown bearing his baby's name written in gold lettering on the chest.
Following the fight, Tommy said: "For the past two and a half years, this is all that’s consumed my life. Broke ribs, denied access, and everybody thought I was running scared. Tonight, I made my own legacy. I am Tommy Fury.
“I want to dedicate this fight to my new baby girl Bambi at home and my Mrs, I love you. I can’t wait to see you. This fight was for you. It’s for you Bambi, I love you." For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
