Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury split: Love Island star confirms couple have ended romance after five years

Love Island stars Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury have announced their split.

The pair, who first met on the ITV reality show in 2019 and share a one-year-old daughter, Bambi, have ended their five-year relationship.

Hague, 25, took to Instagram to share the news, admitted she “never imagined our story would end” while Fury, also 25, followed suit with his own statement half an hour later, admitting he was "heartbroken" by the end of their relationship.

In an emotional statement, Hague wrote: “Never in a million years did I think I'd ever have to write this.

“After five years of being together I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way. I am extremely upset to announce that mine and Tommy's relationship has come to an end.

Hague did not give the reason behind their shock break-up but did address their daughter Bambi. She continued: “I will forever be grateful for the most important thing to me now and always, my beautiful daughter. Without us there would be no her, she will always be my priority.

“I want to thank you all for the love you have shown us over the last five years. You have all been a part of our journey and I feel it's right to share this with you all.

“Whilst I attempt to navigate the coming days and weeks please kindly respect my privacy over this difficult time, I'll be back when it feels right. Molly-Mae x”.

Following Hague’s statement, Fury shared his own to his Instagram Story echoing her sentiments.

He wrote: “I am heartbroken to share that Molly & I have decided to end our relationship. The past 5 years have led to us having our beautiful baby girl, Bambi & I will be forever thankful to Molly for making me a dad. Bambi is our priority.

“Please respect our privacy, and our families privacy, as we navigate our way through this difficult time.”

The Standard has contacted Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury’s reps for comment.

The announcement has sparked mass upset among their fans on social media, who have been left “heartbroken”.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one fan penned: “Yeah I’m heartbroken what do you mean molly mae and Tommy have broken up”.

“I thought molly mae and tommy fury were endgame,” another commented. A third added: “Sorry. Molly Mae and Tommy??!?! There’s no hope.”

“Right that’s it love doesn’t exist NOT Molly-Mae & Tommy breaking up,” another declared.

The couple met on series five of Love Island in 2019, finishing in second place. Their romance continued to blossom soon after, with the pair making things official just weeks after their villa date.

They moved in together in Manchester shortly after returning to the UK and seemed to be going from strength to strength.

In 2023, they welcomed their daughter, Bambi, into the world and later announced their engagement in July while holidaying in Ibiza.

Yet, the pair have been at the centre of split speculation in recent months.

Concern was raised about their relationship when Hague failed to mark his 25th birthday with a public declaration and an extravagant amount of balloons, previously a tradition.

However, they appeared to send a clear message when they returned to normal proceedings for her birthday later in May, with an Italian-themed lunch.

Hague addressed the speculation once again in June, insisting that her relationship with Fury was stronger than ever, especially since becoming parents.

During an Instagram Q&A, she quashed the claims that parenthood had put a strain on things and even teased the couple's upcoming wedding date.

After one fan asked: “Have you and Tommy faced relationship challenges since having Bambi?”

She responded: “I think Bambi has made us closer. Any bickers we have are never actually about her! Parenting together, especially recently has been amazing”.

Then when another asked: “2025 wedding?” she teased: “It's looking that way” before admitting the couple had no plans to have another baby.

However, Fury also admitted earlier in the month that he wasn’t in any rush to walk down the aisle, despite proposing last summer.

In a recent interview with Closer magazine, he shared: “We're not putting pressure on it. We're enjoying being engaged and enjoying that period of our life, so we're in no rush.

“I don't know. You can't plan things like that. It just happens, doesn't it?”

Fury made his last appearance in Hague’s YouTube vlog just three weeks ago, where the couple were seen cuddling in bed while watching Love Island together.

In her latest video, however, she became emotional as she talked about solo parenting while the sports star was occupied with his new book project.

She shared: “I, to be honest with you, have been not feeling… like, I mean this week has just been a lot of emotions.

“He’s done it now, and I’m so proud of him, because I know that was a really big deal to him, but I have been solo parenting pretty much the entire week. Actually I’ve been solo parenting for like, two weeks now, basically because Tommy’s just been so busy.”

She added: “When he’s home from doing work and stuff, he’s so incredible and so helpful. I can’t say any different, like, he’s such an incredible dad, but I have been this week, like, just really… mum life has been mum life-ing.

“I feel like we’re going through a little bit of a challenging phase. Not only with Bambi, but also just with me and trying to juggle a lot.”
