Moises Caicedo fires nine-word response after Arsenal win amid Roberto De Zerbi transfer claim

Moises Caicedo has fired an emphatic response to Julio Enciso on social media after the teenager's goal against Arsenal.

Enciso, 19, opened the scoring in the 3-0 win at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, a result that all-but-ends Mikel Arteta's hopes of winning the league this season. After a first half with little between the sides, Enciso nodded in for Brighton before the Gunners collapsed.

In an attempt to get something from the game, Arsenal were left open and made to pay for crucial errors as Deniz Undav and Pervis Estupinan added two more goals to seal the win. After the game, Roberto De Zerbi offered a lifeline of optimism to the home fans though.

Arsenal have been linked with Brighton's key midfield duo of Alexis Mac Allister and Caicedo. Although it appears that Mac Allister will be on his way to Liverpool over the summer, De Zerbi opened up speculation of losing Caicedo despite the Ecuadorian having only signed a new long-term deal earlier this year.

"Of course we will lose some players - maybe Caicedo, maybe Mac Allister," he said. "We have to be ready to bring in another good players, and the others, for Mitoma and Estupinan, I think for them the best solution is to stay with us. I don’t know if they are ready to play in the big teams, you can explain better than me to ‘play in a big team.’ "

Brighton have become accustomed to losing their best players in recent seasons with Yves Bissouma, Ben White, Marc Cucurella and even their manager and recruitment directors being prized away. After the best season in the club's history, this summer is unlikely to be any different.

Caicedo, who Arsenal went after strongly with a succession of bids for in January, committed himself to the south coast side until 2027 but is still attracting plenty of attention from Chelsea and Arsenal. He still has four games to play in before a decision is made, though.

The Seagulls are still in with an outside shot of finishing in the top four and face Newcastle, Southampton, Manchester City and Aston Villa in their final run of matches. Caicedo appears to be fully on-board with the challenge at hand, too,

After Enciso posted on Instagram: "[Translated] I'm so happy together we can do it let's go with a lot of FAITH thank you my God Fé. [Praying emoji]," Caicedo responded with a positive message of his own.

"You did well. I’m happy for you," he wrote. "Keep going [clapping emoji, fire emoji]."

Arsenal are expected to go back in for Caicedo in the summer as they plot a busy window in order to prepare themselves for next season and the added expectation and pressure that comes with Champions League football.
