Hammarby sporting director Jesper Jansson has confessed Celtic are keeping tabs on Mohanad Jeahze with a view to summer move.
The Premiership leaders have been linked with a move for the 25-year-old Iraq international after an impressive campaign for the Allsvenskan pacesetters.
The Parkhead side had representation in the stands during Hammarby's goalless draw with Malmo on Monday to run the rule over the left-back.
Ange Postecoglou is expected to add to his squad ahead of Champions League tilt next season and adding competition for Greg Taylor appears to be top of the wish list.
Jansson has revealed there has been no formal approach for Jeahze at this stage but is award of the interest from Scotland.
When asked about an approach from Celtic, Jansson told Swedish outlet Expressen : “Nothing new. I know nothing more than what is written in the media.
"There is certainly an interest but I have not heard anything.”
Expressen also notes a deal could be done for the player in a deal worth £1.6m with the player's contract expiring in 2023.
