Brozovic pens new Inter deal
Marcelo Brozovic has signed a contract extension with Inter Milan, despite reports linking the midfielder with a move to Liverpool.
The Croatia international has committed to the Serie A side until 2026, ending any doubts over whether or not he would depart in the summer as a free agent.
Explaining his decision to extend his stay at Inter, Brozovic told the club's website : "I'm delighted to have signed a new deal with Inter. I was desperate to renew my contract and the club was aware of that. I've never held talks with any other clubs out of respect for Inter and their fans. I'd like to thank the club and I'll say it again, I'm so happy for today."
Salah eyes AFCON revenge
Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are set to go head-to-head on the international stage once again, having already faced off in the Africa Cup of Nations final last month. It was Mane who came out on top during a tightly-contested final in Cameroon, with Senegal getting the better of Egypt on penalties.
The Liverpool duo will now battle it out over two legs for a place at the 2022 World Cup, which gets underway at the end of this year. As reported by the Daily Mail, Salah has vowed to avenge his country's AFCON final loss after telling his teammates: "We meet them (Senegal) again next month and inshallah (God willing) we will take revenge".
Egypt host the first leg on Friday and Senegal have home advantage next Tuesday when the sides meet for a second time.
