Here is your Liverpool morning digest for Sunday, March 5.
Mohamed Salah makes four-year Liverpool admission and explains new role
Mohamed Salah admits he knew more than four years ago he wanted to become Liverpool's record Premier League goalscorer - as he outlined the reasons behind a season of struggle for the Reds.
Salah's strike in the 2-0 home win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in midweek moved him one behind sixth-placed Robbie Fowler in the club's all-time league goalscorers list.
In the Premier League alone, Fowler is Liverpool's top scorer after notching 128 times in 266 appearances, with Salah having reached a tally of 127 in 205 outings.
And with the Reds on Sunday afternoon entertaining Manchester United - who along with neighbours City are Salah's favourite opponents after 10 goals in 11 appearances - the Egyptian knows he is close to a landmark he has long been eyeing.
"I'm aware of the records, this one especially," said the 30-year-old. "For me it's really special. When I came, after my first season I had like 31 goals and I was like, 'I want to be the top scorer for Liverpool in the Premier League'. It's something I am really chasing.
"I have some good records at Liverpool. To be fair, as long as we achieve something with the team that's the most important thing for me. I'm so happy and proud to break records and win trophies in a team like Liverpool. I don't want to be in a smaller team and I'm the only one breaking records and that's it."

Virgil van Dijk makes 'nervous' plea to Liverpool fans
Virgil van Dijk has called on everyone at Anfield to play their part on Sunday when Liverpool welcome Manchester United.
The Reds are currently on a four-game unbeaten run in the Premier League, having taken 10 points from the last 12 on offer to close the gap on the top four to six points with a game in hand on Tottenham, who occupy the final spot.
After Wednesday's 2-0 win over Wolves, Jurgen Klopp has the perfect chance to turn a good week into a great one when Erik ten Hag's in-form Red Devils travel to Merseyside.
Van Dijk says he is fully aware of the magnitude of the fixture and accepts what is historically the most-watched fixture in world football will be hyped up all weekend prior to kick off at Anfield.
And the Netherlands captain believes everyone involved on Sunday can impact the result as Liverpool look to take a big stride towards their goal of a top-four finish.
“Yes [it's a massive game], so let's make sure everyone is at their best, including us but also the fans as they play a massive part too," Van Dijk said. "But we should be confident, we should be aggressive and I'm looking forward to it because you want to be out there performing and showing what you can do. Let's give it a go.
