Modi's party seeks to topple Delhi leader as India's capital goes to polls

Millions of people in the Indian capital braved "very poor" air quality on Wednesday to vote in a state election in which prime minister Narendra Modi's Hindu nationalist BJP party sought to unseat a popular opposition leader.

More than 15 million people were eligible to vote to elect members of the Delhi legislature in a largely two-way battle between the BJP and the incumbent Aam Aadmi Party, or AAP.
