Modern Warfare 4's Beta Is Over — Why Infinity Ward Is Still Rethinking Warzone's Map Pacing Before Launch

Infinity Ward wrapped the Modern Warfare 4 beta on September 1 with two separate sets of takeaways — one for Multiplayer, one for Warzone. The Multiplayer notes covered familiar ground: TTK, weapon tuning, perk tiers, aim assist, and spawn improvements. But tucked into the Warzone section was a more open-ended line. After discussing UI readability, footstep audio, and movement on the new Resurgence map Zodiac, Infinity Ward said it's "evaluating overall map pacing to ensure it's in the best possible place for launch." That's worth sitting with, because map pacing isn't a single stat a studio can simply raise or lower — and here, it's specifically about how a Resurgence map plays, not the 6v6 multiplayer maps most players spent the beta on.
