Modern Family's Julie Bowen says that despite being 'straight' she once 'fell in love with a woman'.
Unfortunately for the Hollywood star, 52, the mystery woman never 'loved [her] back' in a relationship that "never took off".
The Claire Dunphy sitcom star insists she's "always been straight" after revealing the swift encounter during a new podcast interview.
"I’m straight. I’ve always been straight. I was in love with a woman for a while, but she didn’t love me back," she said during the programme.
"She liked women but she didn’t like me in that way. It never really took off so I never really had to challenge my concept of my sexuality," she added.
Julie revealed the moment from her love life in a conversation with Bachelor alum Becca Tilley on her Quitters podcast.
Becca said, for her, coming out was a "stressful" experience for her after "particularly after" appearing on two seasons of the ABC show.
"I'm just attracted to people," the 34-year-old reality TV star, who is currently dating Hayley Kiyoko, told Julia during the podcast interview.
She added: "I hope that one day people don’t have to come out, because it causes a lot of stresses and weight added.
"Life is already really hard, falling in love should just be a natural, beautiful thing people shouldn’t have to explain to anybody."
Julie filed for divorce from her husband, Scott Phillips, in February 2018 after more than 13 years of marriage. They share three boys: Oliver, 15 and twins John and Gustav, 13.
She auditioned for the part of Claire Dunphy while she was carrying her twins Gus and John and didn't think show bosses were too impressed by her "humongous" baby bump.
"I was pregnant with twins, and I kept thinking they weren't going to hire me," Julie said previously.
"They kept bringing me in over and over and sort of staring at my humongous belly, and I thought, 'I'm never getting this job'."
She told People magazine: "I love Modern Family, but the reality is, it is a very safe place. I think to get that feeling of pride back, I need to feel a little unsafe again."
She has kept a low-key dating life since her marriage breakdown, but has previously joked that she would "come out of [dating] retirement" for singer Harry Styles.
