A 36-year-old woman has appeared on a Channel 4 show to get help with her constipation which meant she wasn't pooing for weeks and it was by cutting one ingredient out of her diet that helped to relieve the problem. The programme, Know Your S**t: Inside Our Guts, aims to help people with many different dietary problems.
Emerald explained why she came to Poo HQ, the base in the show, she said: "I've come to Poo HQ as I don't go for a poo very often, sometimes it could be a couple of weeks." She also explained that some of her other symptoms include bloating and being gassy.
The lack of pooing can cause her pain and mean she is swollen and this is something Emerald has had to deal with her whole life. The bloating can also cause her to "look pregnant" and as a model, she finds this hard to work around meaning she won't eat at all before shoots.

She said: "If you are in a thong and booby tassels, looking like you are pregnant, not the best one." Emerald added she finds the issue hard to deal with in social situations and awkward to talk about. She said: "I don't like using other people's toilets, I'm a bit poo shy."
Emerald was told by an expert, Dr Rabia Topan, that garlic and onions were one of the biggest causes of bloating. Shocked by the news Emerald said: "Oh no! I put garlic in everything and I put loads. I can't live my life without garlic, oh no!" and promised Dr Rabia that she would cut out garlic.
Six weeks later Emerald re-visited Poo HQ to report back. She said she was now pooing two to three times a week, a normal amount is seen as anywhere between three times a day to three times a week.
Emerald said: "I feel loads better, I think it is the garlic." Know Your S**t: Inside Our Guts airs on Channel 4 on Tuesday, January 17 at 8pm.
