A California woman says she paid $300 to a “mobile mechanic” in a Whole Foods parking lot, only to discover after she paid that the damage to her car looked worse than before. TikTok creator Erin Iveson (@eriniveson) recounted the encounter in an August 2026 TikTok video that has drawn roughly 160,000 views.
According to Iveson, the man approached her as she parked at a Whole Foods in the Flower Hill area of Del Mar and offered to repair a dent and scratch on her vehicle immediately. The man allegedly told her he did mobile body work and could complete the repair for $300 without involving insurance.
