Mo Salah provides update on Liverpool contract situation

Mohamed Salah has provided a fresh update on his contract situation at Liverpool after starring in the 6-3 hammering of Tottenham.

Arne Slot‘s side put Spurs to the sword at home on Sunday, scoring six times in the nine-goal thriller. Salah scored two of those and set up another two to see the Reds walk away with all three points.

It saw Salah make history as he became the first player in Premier League history to reach 10 goals and 10 assists before Christmas.

He told Sky Sports: “I didn’t think about it before the game to be fair but I’m glad I done it, a few times.

“Something made me happy and proud just keep working hard.”

Mo Salah Provides Update On Liverpool Contract Situation

Salah’s brilliant form this season has only amplified how desperate Liverpool fans are to see him extend his stay at Anfield.

The Egyptian is entering the final six months on his deal at the club and will be allowed to leave for nothing in the summer should he fail to agree to new terms.

Salah has publicly made it know he wants to stay at the football club. However, he hasn’t held back in revealing that no agreement has been reached.

And after the thrilling win at Spurs, Salah was asked if there was an update. The Liverpool talisman simply responded with “no.”

Can Salah Beat Ian Rush’s Record?

Salah is now Liverpool’s fourth highest goalscorer. The Egyptian has an incredible 229 goals to his name for the Reds.

However, he still needs over 100 more goals if he is to beat Liverpool legend Ian Rush’s tally of 346.

If asked he could reach Rush’s total, Salah said: “I don’t know how he scored that many goals, to be fair.

“I think the football in that time was quite seven versus seven and not really 11 versus 11.

“He’s a great legend for the club and we have a good contact. Whatever I’m going to end my career with I’m happy about it, so let’s see.”
