Tempers flared during Saturday’s AL Central rivalry clash between the White Sox and Guardians as José Ramírez and Tim Anderson exchanged punches in a shocking fight at second base.
After Ramírez slid in safe with a double during the bottom of the sixth inning, he appeared to take issue with something Anderson did while attempting to apply the tag.
After exchanging some words, the pair squared up and began swinging at one another. Ramírez caught the most significant blow of the bunch, sending Anderson falling backwards onto the ground after connecting with a vicious right hook.
The unexpected melee between Anderson and Ramírez had MLB fans in total disbelief, as they raced to social media with plenty of jokes and reactions.
