Major League Baseball revealed its All-Star Game jerseys on Friday, as the league will use the Mariners colors with the game set to take place in Seattle. The American League will wear the Mariners’ green, while the National League will don the Seattle blue.
The actual design of the jersey is getting better reception than jerseys of the past, as previous iterations of All-Star Game jerseys were more ambitious in their design.
However, fans still have one issue with the All-Star Game jerseys. The league used to allow players the jerseys of their respective teams during the game, but pivoted to having them wear All-Star Game specific jerseys a few years ago.
As evidenced by the social media reaction on Friday, fans still prefer when players wore their everyday jerseys, and they would like the league to go back to allowing that in the game.
I miss when the players wore their actual team jerseys in the All Star Game.

Thought these were soccer jerseys at first, but they look pretty clean. Wish they would just let them wear their own team uniforms. Last year’s were better because they were a different color of their team unis. https://t.co/Qw9mNTIHZk

Bring back the team jerseys. https://t.co/MmqL5WZRUr
Still prefer the players wear their own team’s uniforms. That was always the best. https://t.co/NZagsVxA8T

I don’t care what the uniforms look like. No standardized AL and NL uniforms will ever look better than seeing each player rep his team during the All Star Game. pic.twitter.com/gtHCako4iA

The All-Star Game is a time for players to represent their teams among the best in the league, and some fans still want the contrast of different players in different uniforms coming together for one game a year.
