Mizzou Bettors Suffer Major Burns on Pick-Six Bad Beat

One of the best matchups in college football on Saturday served up arguably the worst bad beat of the slate to sports bettors.

Oddsmakers made No. 21 LSU a 5.5-point road favorite in their SEC showdown at No. 23 Missouri.

Trailing 42–39, and facing with second-and-10 from their own five yard line with only 41 seconds remaining in the game, Missouri quarterback Brady Cook went back to pass.

While attempting to complete a pass downfield, LSU safety Major Burns jumped the route and intercepted the pass, returning it 17 yards for a touchdown.

Missouri backers, who were just seconds away from cashing their investment on the home underdogs, instead watched as LSU extended their lead to 10 points, covering the 5.5-point demand by sportsbooks.

The crazy bad beat, which resulted in Missouri’s (5–1) first loss of the season, left sports bettors lamenting the crushing pick-six on social media.
