NAGPUR: The opening day of the 48th Sub-Junior national basketball championship saw fluctuating fortunes for cagers from Madhya Pradesh as the defending boys champions Mizoram kick started their campaign with a thumping win at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Puducherry on Thursday.

The seven-day national championship for boys and girls is organised by Pondicherry Basketball Association under the aegis of Basketball Federation of India (BFI).
