Mitch McConnell Return Claim Questioned After James Comer Says He Spoke Only With Staff

Rep. James Comer's expectation that McConnell would return to the US Senate on 14 September was based on conversations with the senator's staff rather than a direct conversation with McConnell, leaving the timetable unconfirmed.

The comments came after McConnell's office told reporters there were 'no scheduling announcements at this time' when asked about a return date.
