84-year-old senator Mitch McConnell issued a photo from the hospital along with a statement on his health update amid intense speculation that the Kentucky Republican was brain-dead. The speculations became louder after the death of his fellow Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. But the photo and the statement did little to put a stop to the doubts and rumors and, in fact, stoked them further as the Internet doubted the authenticity of the photo.
