Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell recently addressed questions regarding his past criticism of former President Donald Trump. When asked about his comments in a newly released biography, McConnell chose to sidestep the issue, stating, 'I’m not here to do a book review this morning.'
Pressed further on whether Trump was the best choice to deter US adversaries, McConnell redirected the conversation to focus on the upcoming election, stating, 'I think I’m going to largely confine it to that.'
Despite their differences on foreign policy, McConnell did congratulate Trump on his victory and acknowledged the improvements in his campaign operation. He expressed his intention to dedicate his next two years in office to foreign policy and national defense, emphasizing his belief in America's indispensable role in the world as a 'Reagan Republican.'
When asked about the possibility of Trump appointing figures like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Elon Musk to his administration, McConnell declined to comment, stating, 'I’m not going to get into that subject.'
