Missouri Republican candidate accused of trying to plant cocaine on opponent, ‘If you can pull it off … pull it off’

An already concluded Missouri House race has been thrown into chaos after cops have arrested winning Republican candidate Thomas Ross, who allegedly tried to frame his former primary opponent Louise Secker. Prosecutors have accused Ross of a narcotics conspiracy intended to ruin Secker’s reputation by planting a bag of cocaine in her purse or vehicle.

As reported by the United States Attorney’s Office, Ross has been “charged by criminal complaint for conspiring to distribute a controlled substance to plant on his political opponent.” The complaint goes on to detail that in late July, the FBI was contacted by the Joplin Police Department over what they described as a “public corruption” issue.
