Missing Shaun Banner's heartbroken partner's 'world has stopped' as search nears five weeks

The partner of missing man Shaun Banner says she feels like her "world has stopped", nearly five weeks on from his disappearance.

Shaun, 34, was last seen in Invergordon, Highlands, in the early hours of Saturday, April 23.

The last known sighting of the dad was close to the town's railway station shortly after midnight, when he was captured on CCTV.

Today, his devastated partner Bexy Ross has vowed to continue the search in the hope that Shaun can be tracked down safe and well.

She said on Facebook: "I feel like my world has stopped but we still have to carry on.

"We miss you so much Shaun and it’s coming up five weeks now.

"I will never give up asking people to please keep an eye out for you."

Last week, Shaun's family confirmed that the shoe he was wearing on the night he disappeared had washed ashore.

The item was found at Nigg Beach in the Highlands by a volunteer as part of a search party looking for him. It was handed to police.

Cops said at the time that their enquires indicated the possibility that Shaun had entered the water.

A Facebook group dedicated solely to tracing Shaun, who is dad to daughter Tia, has been set up as the search rages on.

Bexy confirmed that the hunt has now turned to a focus on shorelines and beaches.

She continued: "We are forever grateful for people who are still out daily looking and posting on the Search for Shaun page to let us know where they have been searching and for all those making sure we are keeping going, getting our wee family through the hardest times.

"Thank you isn’t really enough."

Inspector Chris Murray, of Alness Police Station, said: “Extensive searches and enquiries have been carried out as part of our efforts to trace 34-year-old Shaun Banner, since he was last seen in Invergordon in the early hours of Saturday, 23 April.

“Officers have remained engaged with Shaun’s family throughout the process, providing them support and updates on the investigation.

“Our enquiries have subsequently indicated the possibility that Shaun has entered the water sometime after he was last seen.

"At this time, efforts to trace him remain ongoing and we continue to appeal for anyone with information or any potential sightings to please come forward.”
