Missing Scots pensioner traced safe and well after disappearing more than a month ago

A Scottish pensioner reported missing more than a month ago has been traced by police, officers announced this morning.

Patrick Harvey, 69, was reported missing from the Kilsyth area of North Lanarkshire on Saturday, July 2.

Patrick had last been seen about 10pm in Glasgow, and it was believed that he boarded a train from Central Station to Blackpool, Lancashire, around 9.30am the following day.

It was reportedly out of character for him to be away from home for a long period of time and the man's relatives were growingly increasingly concerned.

But police said today: "Patrick Harvey, 69, who had been missing from Kilsyth since Saturday, July 2, has been traced safe and well. Thank you for your assistance with our appeals."

The public were keen to share their well-wishes to Patrick and his family following him being traced.

One person said: "Wow, amazing news! What a relief for his family." Another wrote: "That is amazing news to hear after such a long time, thank god."
