Missing Irvine man last seen in Glasgow as officers worry for his well-being

Police are appealing to the public in a bid to trace a missing Ayrshire man who was last seen in Glasgow.

45-year-old Joseph Shields has been reported missing from the Irvine area. He was last seen in Glasgow city centre on Castle Street at around 6pm on June, 20.

The 45-year-old is described as white, 6ft in height, with a medium build and cropped brown hair.

Joseph was last seen wearing a light pink t-shirt, dark trousers and white trainers.

Officers have appealed to the public for information which may be able to track his whereabouts as concerns are raised for his well-being.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Officers are concerned for his well-being and are appealing for any information on his whereabouts to trace him as soon as possible to ensure he is safe and well.

"He has been known to travel to the Portsmouth and Carlisle areas, and enquiries are ongoing to establish his whereabouts.

"Anyone who believes they may have seen Joseph or has any information which could help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 3073 of 20 June 2023."
