Missing girl, 14, from Scotland spotted in Manchester city centre

Police believe a missing 14-year-old girl from Scotland has travelled to Manchester.

Emma Goddard, from Stevenston in the Ayrshire area, was first reported missing to officers on Thursday, September 1. She was then spotted on Market Street in Manchester city centre at around 9pm on Monday (September 5).

Police said Emma is 'known to travel'. She is described as being white and around 5ft 5in tall with short red/auburn hair, which could now be dyed blue.

Emma wears glasses and was last seen wearing black clothing with a blue jacket. She was spotted carrying several black bags.

Officers have released two pictures of Emma as part of an appeal on social media. Anyone who has any information about where she is is being urged to get in touch.

Inspector Jamie Lyall, of Police Scotland, said: "Since Emma was reported missing we have been carrying out significant enquiries and it is now believed that Emma has travelled to the Manchester area. I am appealing for anyone with any information on Emma’s whereabouts to contact us.

"I would also appeal to Emma herself to get in touch with us or family and friends."

Anyone with any information should contact police on 101 quoting incident 3469 of Thursday, 1 September, 2022.
