A couple have been reunited with their pet cat after she was found in a bush - six years after going missing. Pauline and Trevor Robinson gave up hope of ever seeing Georgie again after she darted out of a window in September 2016.
Despite a search, Georgie could not be found and the couple believed she must have died. They even put a memorial plaque to their beloved pet on the mantelpiece at their home in the village of Pity Me in County Durham.
But the couple were stunned when they received a call saying Georgie had been found living under a hedge - just 500 yards from Pauline and Trevor’s home. Worried residents had called the RSPCA to say they had seen a badly malnourished stray cat on the road.
