Actress Miriam Margolyes has been revealed as the unlikely cover shoot star for the latest issue of British Vogue as she chose to pose naked for the magazine.
The actress, who is best known for her Hollywood roles including the Harry Potter series and Baz Luhrman's Romeo + Juliet, discussed her body, health and sexuality in a feature interview for the British fashion magazine.
In an interview with the title she also revealed she's facing upcoming heart surgery after being rushed to hospital in an emergency last month.
Describing the health issue as 'unexpected', 68-year-old Miriam opened up that it's made her confront death as a result. The actress is now awaiting surgery to have a heart stent fitted, whilst continuing to keep busy with acting roles.
Speaking in her cover interview for Vogue, the actress who has starred in the Harry Potter series as well as numerous other Hollywood films revealed her hospital stay forced her to consider her own mortality.
She said: "When you're young, you never think about death. You just think about your next f**k basically. I think about death a lot.'
"Oh, every day, for sure. Every morning when I get up I think, 'Hmmm, another day,' which maybe I wasn't expecting."
Last month Miriam was taken into The Royal Brompton Hospital for a transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) but then forced to stay in for longer with a chest infection and not allowed home for several days.
She kept fans up to date with her health as she shared a picture of herself in a hospital bed and wrote: "Thanks to my precious friends who thought of me on Tavi Day. I did survive and I am still in The Royal Brompton Hospital certainly till Sunday.
"I am growing energy but it's still not quite me. I am putting this so you know how grateful I am for lovely messages.
"Slowly I'll get back to The Chase and then Italy, Oz filming in WA and return for 22 city books tour on Sept 7. Loving hugs. MM".
Continuing to speak to Vogue, Miriam also revealed that despite her naked photoshoot she sometimes struggles to accept her body and shape. She said: "I like my face. I think my face is kind and warm and open and smiley.
"But I hate my body. I hate big t*ts [and I have] a drooping belly, little twisted legs. I'm not thrilled with that. But you just make the best of it. You have to. You do the best you can."
Her comments come as she is pictured smiling for the cover photoshoot whilst protecting her modesty with a tongue-in-cheek set up featuring iced cakes and an afternoon tea spread.
