Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom 'always put their son first'

Miranda Kerr was married to the movie star for three years

Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom have prioritised the wellbeing of their son since their break-up.

The 43-year-old model and Orlando, 49, were married between 2010 and 2013, but they've always put their son Flynn, 15, before anything else in their lives.

Asked about the secrets to their co-parenting dynamic, Miranda told E! News: "Put the needs of the child first. That's so important to think about, is this in the best interest for the child? And that's what we've done from day one with Flynn, and that's helped navigate so many challenging situations that have come up. Kids first."

Miranda - who also has Hart, seven, Myles, six, and Pierre, two, with husband Evan Spiegel - believes kindness is the most important rule in her household.

The model said: "Kindness is so important. Being kind to people, being respectful is just the basic level. Obviously, we should go above and beyond, but kindness is just basic expectation around our house.

"[My kids] know that I just love if they make me a little card, and each of my boys made me something. Even the two-year-old painted like a little photo frame. And his brother Hart made me this cute little heart origami, and it's adorable. His brother Myles drew this beautiful butterfly for me."

Meanwhile, Miranda previously claimed that she and Orlando weren't "bringing out the best" in each other during their marriage.

Discussing where their relationship stood, Miranda said on the We Need to Talk podcast: "Orlando and I are great friends.

"I just wished him a happy birthday and he told me, thank you to me for being such a wonderful mother to Flynn and a great friend to him, and how grateful he is to have me in his life. And I feel the same.

"I wish him only all the best for this coming year. We see each other regularly and always have been very harmonious. There's such a base level of friendship and respect there that we both have for each other."
