Mirabai Chanu all but qualifies for Paris Olympics after impressive World Cup performance

NEW DELHI: Tokyo Olympics silver-medallist Mirabai Chanu took a significant step towards qualifying for the 2024 Paris Games after clinching the third position in the women's 49kg Group B event at the IWF World Cup.

Despite returning from a six-month injury layoff, Chanu displayed her prowess by lifting a total of 184 kg (81kg+103kg) at the tournament, which serves as the final and mandatory qualifier for the Paris Olympics.
