A Minnesota woman won a lottery jackpot with a ticket she received while at the hospital after being diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer.

A doctor in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, broke the news to Debbie Bury about her diagnosis a few weeks ago after she began having trouble playing cards, as reported by WCCO.

"She said, 'I just gotta let you know you have three cancers in your head.'" Bury told WCCO.

Bury said following the news, she was immediately surrounded with support. She had dozens of friends come to visit her at Methodist Hospital, one of which brought her Vikings-themed scratch-off lottery ticket.

"Oh gosh you got a football, oh my gosh, I think you won $100," Bury recounted the story to the station. "He goes, 'Push it back – you just won $100,000.'"

"It's not all the time you get joyful surprises on the oncology floor. Just to see this is so different than what we see on the daily and we get to celebrate with you," Andrea O'Hern, Oncology Nurse Manager at Methodist Hospital, told the outlet.

"It just felt like life is now going to be good. It's just, it was meant to be," Bury told WCCO.

Stage 4 brain cancer is generally an aggressive form of cancer, according to Medical News Today. However, Bury recently had a successful surgery and plans to keep fighting.
