The Minnesota Vikings continue to purge their roster as they attempt to create enough cap space to sign star wide receiver Justin Jefferson to a lucrative long-term contract.
The Vikings enjoyed a fine 2022 season as they surged to the NFC North division title on the back of a 13-4 record. However, they secured 11 wins by one score which meant many fans doubted their potential in the playoffs - and the Vikings were sent packing in the first round as the New York Giants triumphed 31-24 in Minnesota.
Minnesota are in an intriguing position; they are almost stuck in the middle of the road in terms of roster quality and Super Bowl chances, while their best player is not a quarterback. Jefferson is arguably the best receiver in the league, he led the NBA in receptions (128) and receiving yards (1,809) to go with eight touchdowns as the 23-year-old was named NFL Offensive Player of the Year.
