Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is actively engaging with Black and Latino voters during his visit to Pennsylvania on Friday, as part of efforts to bolster support for Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris. A campaign official revealed that Walz will meet with Black community leaders at Booker’s Restaurant and Bar, a Black-owned establishment in West Philadelphia. Additionally, he will visit El Tipico Restaurant in Allentown, Pennsylvania, a city with a significant Latino population, accompanied by Allentown’s first Latino mayor Matt Tuerk.

During these interactions, Walz is expected to emphasize Harris’ 'opportunity agenda,' a set of economic policy proposals aimed at addressing the needs of non-white voters. Since joining the Democratic ticket in August, Walz has been actively involved in outreach efforts to Black and Latino voters through rallies, community visits, and media appearances.

In a recent rally in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Walz specifically targeted Latino voters in the Lehigh Valley region, including Allentown. He has also participated in interviews with Black and Latino media outlets and is scheduled for further discussions with platforms catering to these demographics.

During a recent trip to Wisconsin, Walz engaged with community leaders at a Black-owned barber shop, where he highlighted Harris’ economic policies focused on empowering the Black community. In an interview with Univision Radio, Walz underscored Harris’ proposals to enhance access to credit for small businesses, expand the child tax credit, and provide assistance to first-time homebuyers as key components of her economic agenda.

Walz emphasized that the ultimate goal of these policies is to enable Black and Latino families to build 'generational wealth.' By actively engaging with these key voter demographics, Walz is contributing to the campaign’s strategy to secure support for Harris and advance her vision for economic empowerment and opportunity.
