Ministry orders probe on company with links to Jharkhand State Cricket Association

KOLKATA: Following complaints lodged by Nirmal Kaur, retired IPS officer and wife of late Amitabh Choudhary, the former Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) president, and Sunil Sinha, the Union Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has ordered a probe into allegations of corruption against Country Cricket Club (CCC), a commercial establishment running from the premises of JSCA. The investigation was ordered by MCA on Mar 7 this year.

“I am directed to refer (to a) complaint email dated 27.12.2023 received from Sunil Sinha and letter dated Nil received from Nirmal Kaur on the above subject. In this regard I am directed to convey the approval of the competent authority to carry out an inspection in respect of Country Cricket Club by following the due process as per provisions of Section 206 (5) and submit the Inspection Report in prescribed manner to this Ministry,” read the letter signed by MK Sahu, joint director, MCA.
