Russia’s ambassador to London has been slapped down by a minister who told him Vladimir Putin could end his war in Ukraine tomorrow.

Health minister Stephen Kinnock, who was on the media round for the Government on Friday, flatly rejected the claim by Andrei Kelin that Britain was leading opposition to a quick peace deal.
