Minecraft-inspired RPG Hytale hires creator of some of its first mods as a dev — "Keeping our promise to hire from within the community!"

Hypixel Studios' Hytale — an open-world, block-based sandbox RPG that's inspired significantly by Minecraft and being developed by a team of prolific Minecraft modders best known for running the famous Hypixel server — has been enjoying a tremendous launch period ever since its Early Access release a week and a half ago.

Though we have no official metrics to look at, it's clear from the ongoing buzz about Hytale and its Twitch viewership numbers that the game has gotten off to an explosively strong start. And as a result of that launch, the title's modding scene has taken off as well, with 2.6K mods posted and 7.8 million mod downloads on CurseForge at the time of writing.
