Millions of eye drops sold at major US retailers recalled

  • Over 3.1 million bottles of eye drops manufactured by K.C. Pharmaceuticals are being recalled because they may not be sterile.
  • The recall affects eight brands, including Dry Eye Relief Eye Drops and Sterile Eye Drops Redness Lubricant, sold at major retailers like CVS, Kroger, Walgreens and Dollar General.
  • The FDA has classified this as a Class II recall, meaning the products could cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, with a remote chance of serious harm.
  • The recall was initiated on March 3 and officially classified by the FDA on March 31.
  • Consumers are advised to discard the recalled products or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
