Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown has been cast in a new sci-fi film. The Electric State will be directed by Russo Brothers, the directors of Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War.
The film is going to be based on the illustrated book by Simon Stålenhag, whose book Tales from the Loop, was recently adapted into a TV series by Amazon. The Electric State is one of the many projects the Russo Brothers have embarked on, they have a new film called The Gray Man coming to Netflix next month and have also worked on the 2020 film Extraction.
Brown, who made her film debut in 2018 with Godzilla: King of the Monsters, is only just coming off her praised performance in the fourth season of Stranger Things. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming sci-fi film The Electric State.

What is The Electric State about?
The novel follows an orphaned teenager who lives in a retro-futuristic version of the US. The teenager traverses the American West with a kind but mysterious robot and a peculiar drifter in search of her younger brother.
Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have adapted the script for Netflix. The film was originally meant for Universal but when a deal couldn’t be made in 2020, Netflix was fast to acquire the film. It isn’t a surprise Netflix took this on given the company’s strong ties to both Brown and the Russo brothers.
Who else is in the cast?
Brown is the only confirmed cast member for the film. However, Deadline has revealed Chris Pratt might potentially join the project.
Is there a release date?
Not as of yet. Production is scheduled to start in autumn in Atlanta, USA.
