A 19-year-old man is fighting for life after a stabbing on a major east London road on Sunday afternoon.
Police and paramedics were called to the stabbing on Mile End Road just after 3pm and found the victim seriously injured.
He was rushed to hospital and remains there in a critical condition.
No arrests have yet been made after the incident and enquiries are ongoing.
Officers considered a Section 60 order, which gives police enhanced stop and search powers for a limited period of time, but decided against it, describing the stabbing as an “isolated incident”.
