Mikel Arteta last night blasted referee Andy Madley after what he felt were two "scandalous" decisions which cost his side victory at the Emirates Stadium.
Arteta believed Dan Burn should have been penalised for a shirt pull on Gabriel for a spot-kick while he believed Jacob Murphy handled the ball late on to deny him another penalty. After the match, he took aim at West Yorkshire official Madley in his press conference.
Arteta said: "I am talking about what I have seen, now. It is two scandalous penalties. It is not about which is stronger - they are two penalties. That’s very simple. I’m really proud, the way we played, the way we dominated the game, the approach that we had from the beginning.

"We lacked that spark in the final third to find that opening, to find that right moment and extra pass and a little bit of finishing quality but we had a lot of situations in and around the box to do better."
Arteta squared up to the Toon bench and confronted both Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall at the Emirates. When asked about the angry scenes and what he was unhappy about, he said: "Just parts of the game. It’s a football match.
"It’s very competitive the way we play, the way they play. We’re close on the table and this is the beauty of this league."
