The Premier League title race took another twist on Monday night, but it wasn’t one in favour of Manchester City. The Blues’ 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace meant their gap at the top was only extended to four points when it could have been six, and that could now be reduced to just one should Liverpool win their game in hand this week.
Given how the game played out, City can feel a little aggrieved that they didn’t leave Selhurst Park with all three points. They generated 18 shots on the Palace goal and hit the woodwork twice, however, luck was seemingly against them. Pep Guardiola doesn’t believe in luck though and opined City’s failure to score instead rested on their own shoulders.
He said: "We play a really good game. In 90 minutes we concede mistakes a little bit, but the way we played was really good. Luck doesn't exist in football. We have to score goals and we didn't do it.”
